Nido Poetry Journal

A poetry nest for women of color worldwide

In celebration of our two years writing together at in-person and virtual events, we are launching Nido Poetry Journal to showcase the work written by women of color in our Nido Poets community.

Writers can submit poetry covering any topics of interest.

We are currently accepting submissions for our first publication until March 15th.

Submission Guidelines

Requirements:

  1. You must identify as a woman of color (WOC), BIPOC (Black, Indigenous Person of Color) woman, femme, or nonbinary. If you don’t identify as a WOC or BIPOC woman, you must be a woman or nonbinary or femme with ethnic origins in the Global South (Indigenous to the Americas, Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa, and Asia).

  2. Submissions must be in poetry. We do not accept other genres, but we will consider mixed-genre pieces that include poetry.

  3. We only accept work that has not been published previously.

  4. You may reside in any country.

  5. For the first issue, to be published in the spring of 2025, we are prioritizing those members who have participated in at least one Nido Poets event (virtual or in-person). If you haven’t attended our events in the past and would like priority consideration for publication, please register to attend our upcoming events here.
